Please check back, as events are (hopefully going to be) added throughout the year!
2020 18 March 2020 Here we are, just past the middle of March in what began as a fresh decade full of energy and opportunity...and we are now thick in the midst of many uncertainties, so finally I am doing my first update of 2020.
Last November, I was appointed to the Board of Directors of FUSION: The Ontario Clay & Glass Association, and in January, I took on the portfolio of Director/Chair of FUSION's annual Clay & Glass Show. I remain optimistic that it will still happen this fall, and FUSION, like so many arts organisations, is hard at work navigating this ever-changing landscape to ensure members' and supporters' needs are met while respecting the directives of our government and health officials. This also goes for Simcoe Contemporary Dances ("SCD"), for which company I am Chair of the Board of Directors and have been grateful to a part of, in this our 10th year. Stay safe, be well, keep officially informed, post a message of thanks to frontline workers, and reach out to each other in creative ways. Not only will we flatten the curve, we will smash it.
2019 - FUSION: The Ontario Clay & Glass Association: October 18 - 20, 2019, at Artscape Wychwood Barns, Toronto ON (https://www.clayandglass.on.ca/) This is the 23rd Annual juried Show & Sale of exceptional glass and ceramic arts, and I am honoured to have had my work selected on my first application to this event. Opening is Friday night from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.; show runs Saturday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Sunday 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Barrie Farmers Market: Several dates for my inaugural year: August 3, August 17*, September 21*, October 5, and October 12. The market is at Barrie City Hall (corner of Mulcaster & Collier Streets), year-round from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, outdoors from May to October, indoors November to April. *This year, the Market is also presenting four BAMM events - Barrie Artists and Makers Market - and I will be there on these *dates. The booth locations can change for each event, so I'll try to post my location the morning of, on Instagram. (http://www.barriefarmersmarket.ca/)
- nookFEST: Saturday, September 7, Toronto, ON. This is the third year for the event - a community arts, music & food festival - and this time, they are closing the Danforth between Woodmount & Woodbine Avenues! (http://www.thenooks.ca/)
- Toronto Outdoor Art Fair: Friday to Sunday, July 12 - 14 at Nathan Phillips Square, Toronto ON (https://torontooutdoor.art/) I am thrilled to bits to have been one of the 360 artists & artisans selected from over 800 applicants to participate in this 58th annual event. You can find me at Booth C196.
- Guelph Potters' Market: Saturday & Sunday, May 25 & 26 at Royal City Park, Guelph, ON (http://guelphpottersmarket.ca/) - tales from tuscany: a self-produced pop-up exhibition and sale at Art in House, Barrie, ON. After four successive years, I am taking a break from this event to focus on other projects, but stay tuned...
