2021

As I finally write my first update on January 30, we are still in the midst of many uncertainties.  I remain hopeful for a good year, a better year, that we may confidently take and use what we have learned to keep up positively present and propel us into the future.  One such motivation for me is having been appointed President of FUSION late last year, and I look forward to building on FUSION's successes whilst finding innovative ways to engage with the clay and glass communities.

Ideas have been formulating as I venture to begin a new body of work.  Meanwhile, a four-piece set of mine is currently part of an invitational exhibition at be contemporary gallery in Innisfil, ON.  The show is online only for the time-being, so please do check out the website! Till we meet again, be well and stay safe.  May we support each other, respect one another, create art together, and above all, be kind - the human race depends on it.  We can do it.

2020
Sadly, no in-person events transpired and were much missed.  At the same time, I received a few important commissions - yay for goals and deadlines!

In my March update, I wrote of my appointment to the Board of Directors of FUSION: The Ontario Clay & Glass Association, subsequently taking on the portfolio of Director/Chair of FUSION's annual Clay & Glass Show.  We remained optimistic for our annual event to take place, but alas, we made the decision to postpone it to next year, so stay tuned!  Meanwhile, along with "my" other arts organisation, Simcoe Contemporary Dances ("SCD"), of which I am Chair of the Board of Directors, I/we continue to work and learn and listen and do our part in navigating the pressing and ongoing crises of these times in our society.

2019
- FUSION The Ontario Clay & Glass Association:
The C & G Show:  October 18-20, 2019, at Artscape Wychwood Barns, Toronto, ON (https://www.clayandglass.on.ca/)
This was the 23rd Annual juried Show & Sale of exceptional glass and ceramic arts, and I was absolutely chuffed to be accepted on my first-time application.

The Annual Conference:  (May 31), June 1-2 at McMaster University, Hamilton, ON
This was a lifetime opportunity, as I volunteered in assisting Lisa Hammond, MBE, and John Colbeck during the entire two days of their demos.

- Toronto Outdoor Art Fair:  July 12 - 14 at Nathan Phillips Square, Toronto, ON (https://torontooutdoor.art/)
This was the 58th annual TOAF, and again, I was grateful to be accepted on my first-time application as one of
360 artists & artisans selected from over 800 applicants.

- Guelph Potters' Market: May 25 & 26 at Royal City Park, Guelph, ON (http://guelphpottersmarket.ca/)
